Many coaches (not all) have obtained coaching certification, or have a deep knowledge of nutritional facts; but not all have lived the very challenge that they are offering to help you with.

What sets me apart is that I've been there and I'm doing it!
Not "done that", as plant-heavy eating is not a fad diet... it's a lifestyle!

I know how deflating it feels when you try your best and still come up short...because sometimes life just happens.

I've had to pinch pennies, make sacrifices and find creative alternatives to make healthier eating affordable on a very tight budget.

I've taught myself how to tweak recipes to suit our West Indian palate and find substitutes when the disrupted supply chain means key items aren't in stock.

I too have come across "intended-to-be-helpful" low-inflammatory diet meal plans and suggestions that aren't tailored for my West Indian palate... with several inaccessible ingredients.

I'm familiar with the guilt and disgust with self when I yield to the temptation of a Kit Kat at the checkout counter ... or the convenience of fast food.

I've worked all day long and come home too fagged out to cook... settling for a quick, knowingly  "not-too-too-healthy meal" cuz it's more convenient.

I've created my healthier version of my once favourite fast food ... ain't want nutting wid my Lemon Pepper Wings!

I had to find a way...and I can help YOU find a way.

Knowing what to do is one thing. Getting it done often calls for someone to hold your hand as you walk you through the trenches, encouraging you and keeping you on track.

I've informally helped several people "plantify" their diet through my small business, Q's HealthyREats & WhatsApp broadcasts.

I"m drawing from my personal experiences while navigating a chronic condition and adopting a plant-heavy lifestyle to help manage flare ups and generally improve wellness.

I will help you incorporate more fruit, vegetables, greens, nuts, seeds, legumes, more whole foods and fewer ultra-processed foods into your diet, thus opening the door to better health.
If you have a dietician and faithfully go from visit to visit but still struggle to implement their dietary recommendations, a coach can help.
Coaching is future-oriented and involves goal-setting towards improved performance. It focusses on future goals and potential; whereas therapy deals with emotional healing from past wounds/traumas and mental health challenges.

With coaching tthe emphasis is on self-discovery, accountability and action planning. The client is deemed the expert on their own life and goals.

The term plant-heavy was coined in recognition of the wide spectrum of plant-based, plant-centric, plant-focussed or plant-forward nutritional styles. It fits well with our approach of welcoming and working with you regardless of where you fall along that spectrum, provided you have a desire to increase your intake of plant foods as a means of improving your health.

Yes. While at the farthest end of the plant-heavy spectrum, your full protein requirements can be obtained from plants, we are aware that this may not be practical, or even necessary. We acknowledge that for many meat is a staple and encourage lean, healthy cuts over red meat.
Strict calorie tracking can be important if the primary goal is weight loss.
However, this can become tedious, does not necessarily reflect quality nutrition and the fixation of number of calories may trigger anxiety.

Our approach incorporates whole foods, a focus on plant foods with recommendations (e.g. mindful eating, regular exercise) that support healthier outcomes that are sustainable.
